A brief history of Motorsport.com
1993: rec.autos.sport.info
The Motorsport.com organization came into being in 1993 to moderate and facilitate the rec.autos.sport.info newsgroup, and to distribute free motorsport news content throughout the emerging Internet.
1994: www.motorsport.com
In 1994, with the emergence of the World Wide Web, the www.motorsport.com domain name was registered, and the Motorsport.com site went online, as one of the first motorsport news sites on the Internet.
1997: The first expansion
1997 saw the first phase of expansion for Motorsport.com, with added content as well as online competitions such as the F1 Pick 6 and F1PP. In 1998, feature articles and photography were also added.
2000: The new Motorsport.com
With the advent of the new millenium, motorsport.com has also taken a giant leap. The new database-driven design enables up-to-the-minute news coverage, with more news than ever before, but the information content is now much more comprehensive: schedules, statistics, forums, more features, more photos, and more competitions.
Motorsport.com is now truly the home of motorsport content on the web, with news and other content unparallelled anywhere else. Make Motorsport.com the starting point of your day on the Internet, too!
